Server Uptime 100 Days
(Are you looking for how to read the uptime command?)
When I opened Server Monitor this morning I was greeted by a nice surprise. The uptime command reports:
up 100 days
Of course an uptime of 100 days isn’t a big deal. But I can say that with somewhere around 70 sites running on the server, a couple of high traffic mailing lists, and serving about 350,000 pages daily the server is still sailing along with CPU usage around 15-25% and extremely low load averages.
Even 100 days of uptime doesn’t equal 100% uptime in the last 100 days though. Sometimes services need configuration changes and they need to be stopped and restarted momentarily. However I try to do that as little as possible and do it early in the morning when it will impact the fewest people.
