Beech Aero Club reaches 250 Members

Sometime yesterday the Beech Aero Club reached 250 members. The website opened on July 30 so we they have acheived enormous growth in less than four months. They have also held four fly-ins as well as helped a huge number of people with airplane technical support. I, like all of the Board of Directors have volunteered all of my time for this great organization. For me it has paid off in dividends. I have picked up seven new website contracts as a result of exposure from the club.

I read a book recently called Making a Living Without a Job : Winning Ways For Creating Work That You Love by Barbara Winter. In it one of her recommendations for getting started in your own business was to initially volunteer to do work and then through that work hopefully get references and in turn new clients. I thought it was a little silly at first, but in the end she was right.

The club will be opening its Company Store soon with logo wear, stickers, and other goodies. We will also be holding elections for club officers in the coming weeks. It is a great feeling watching the development of the club.

Now back to fine-tuning my new Xserve!
