Any regular visitors might have noticed something missing from this site over the past couple of days… ads. I had been using the Google AdSense program to deliver advertisements to visitors. Over the past couple months I had barely made enough money on this site to buy a lunch.

For awhile I thought to myself why not continue them? I mean half of a free lunch is better than no lunch, right? Well… no, not really. There are sometimes when having a website without clutter becomes more important than the pennies I might earn.

Certainly there are plenty of things I could have done to better optimize the ads, but I’m not sure that would have been worth it either. AdSense works best when your website targets a specific target or niche. I tend to wander a bit on this blog and that’s okay because it is mine. I don’t expect to have a following here of website developers, aviation nuts, or Geocaching, GPS types.

So I wander from topic to topic and post what I want. That is what this is about. Down the road I might start additional blogs with specific topics that I’ve been discussing here and those blogs will likely have ads. But this one is going to remain without ads for the time being.
